Last Night In Amsterdam

I nearly forgot to post, and we get up early for our train to Berlin, but I’ll quickly get this up.

Today we walked over nine miles. Our main destination was the Van Gogh Museum. It was very nice, and I learned more about him. I did miss some of the works we’ve seen elsewhere — especially Starry Night — but I still really enjoyed it.

Here are some photos from before and after … no shots in the exhibits:

Of course we also ate, and dealt with huge crowds as well. I’m not sure what was going on, but there were young groups of women riding on scooters, dressed in silly clothes, and the we saw groups of young men in shirts and, usually, skinny ties. Eventually they seemed to be making their way to the Dam Center, and we heard various singing and saw crazy activities. Seemed like sorority and fraternity stuff, but do they have that here? Dunno. Dan joined in the craziness, though.

More sobering was seeing these markers — we had seen them on our past trip as well, but I didn’t know they were here as well.

I’m glad these are there … something we should never forget.

And now goodnight.
