Woke up to a lovely, good news day!

I also slept in a bit too long — up slightly after 9:00. Truth is, though, I was up a lot throughout the night, and for some reason kept checking the news. Go figure.

Once I did get up it was breakfast time, including coffee and brötchen.

Then, as Jan and Greg went out on a couple of errands I took a very welcome shower. Hooray, I’m a clean machine!

Greg returned, but then readied himself for his bike ride. Jan, Dan, and I sat around. Mostly I ended up closing my eyes … I believe checking my phone too frequently throughout the night meant I needed more rest!

Finally Dan and I opted to go on a walk up Philosopher’s Way. I love that walk! It was somewhat brisk out, but the walk uphill meant we warmed quickly, and eventually we even got sun.

Then we had to take the steeper downhill walk. It’s all cobblestones and could be a bit slippery with my boots so I went quite slowly. I much prefer uphill!

As we were walking up higher I mentioned to Dan that my knees were wobbly. Normally I don’t eat before my walk and when I do I tend to get the shakes. Dan mentioned that he was feeling dehydrated. Thus, we decided to find a place to get a small bit somewhere in the Altstadt. First, though, we walked to find our restaurant, Weisser Bock for tonight.

I didn’t take a photo of our lunch — it was a simple pizza that we shared, so instead you get a photo of my empty iced tea glass. I know that’s pretty darn thrilling! You’re welcome.

Back to the house we went. Time to rest and relax!

Oh … and maybe someone took an hour long nap, but will she admit it? Hmm. Maybe. (I needed it!)

We walked to our dinner and it was very yummy. I’m so glad we chose that spot (thanks, Greg and Jan, for approving of the spot). It wasn’t noisy, so I could actually hear.

And I could eat too. Here are some dinner photos:

A great meal was had! Just a Major Yum!

Then we walked back home and had a small glass of Gewürtztraminer.

After a bit Dan headed to bed, and I followed shortly after, but spent some time reading. And then I nearly forgot to post this1 But here it is, 11:14 PM and I’m finally hitting publish.

Tomorrow is our final full day in Heidelberg. We have no plans at this point so time will tell what we do. Being with Jan and Greg is the best treat!

Goodnight!
