I’m now on to a new task: I am investigating self-guided walking holidays. I’ve always wanted to do something like this somewhere in, most likely, the UK: walking from one town to the next, staying at inns along the way. I do hope that Dan and I can see Scotland sometime (I was there when I was 17, but have never been back) and I think it’s just lovely. But I also know there are places in England that would be fabulous to walk. And of course there’s Wales. And Ireland.

We are looking for something that isn’t too grueling, and I’m finding a variety of companies that I can check out. In some ways there are so many it can be overwhelming. So if any reader has done something like this, or knows of someone who has, feel free to leave a comment!

I’m looking, too, for blogs that tell of a trip (or trips). Surely those must exist, right? So far, though, I’ve come up empty.

But there are SO many more! I worry that with so many out there the inns must fill up awfully quickly. But I suppose they all manage somehow.

What I’d prefer would be to plan the entire thing on my own, but I just don’t see that that would be very practical, since one thing one wants is to have luggage delivered to each inn. As light as ours is we still don’t want it on our backs while we walk.

I have no date in mind yet, so now is a great time to write about this and see if anyone has advice. I’m listening!
