It is already “tomorrow” here … but this is for yesterday (July 7).
Side Note: I suspect these photos are taking eons to load. I need to take the time to reduce them … but not tonight … it’s just too darn late!
It was a day of walking and eating and lots of interesting sights. I must say it is quite easy to get rather lost in Porto, and I rather enjoy it!
Dan and I woke and got up rather leisurely. Then we headed out to find a nice cup of coffee. We first headed one way, then another, and finally went back to one of the first places to have a cuppa and some food. This seems to be somewhat typical for us!
After that we wandered a bit, trying to find a market Jameson and Meghan had mentioned. It took us a while (honestly, it’s kind of crazy to navigate even with Apple Maps!), but when we got there we had a wonderful time. First, though, we saw other things I will share here. (I will probably continue to take photos of the amazing tiles here!)

The market was only recently renovated, and it’s pretty darn cool. We each enjoyed a mini pastel de nata, and then wandered through the entire market. Near the end it was lunch time, so we bought a couple of glasses of wine and some little bites and sat down to enjoy those.

From there we headed toward the historic center, and as always wandered. We did finally end up at a photographic exhibit (in a former jail), but I admit I didn’t find it all that exciting. Later we enjoyed a brief sit down (with a beer) and then headed back to our hotel, which included a small visit to a local train station. OH … and yes, there were escalators at one point, when there were also tons of stairs. Gee, guess which we chose?!)

Getting back to our hotel, we readied ourselves to meet up with Jameson and Meghan and then we headed over to the other side fo the river to have dinner at Vinum at Grahams restaurant. The walk took us over a bridge that caused me to have to look straight ahead (and Dan took my hand to help me as well). I have a serious issue with heights! Then it was a lot of walking, lots of stairs, and a good amount of exercise … a good thing considering all we ate! But oh my, the meal was fabulous. As were the views. But it is 12:26 AM and I need to get some sleep, so I will post those images tomorrow. (It takes a while to get them to show up on my computer for some reason.)
Goodnight!
I love your full day! Memories are made and shared with amazing photographs. Thanks for sharing. It looks absolutely lovely.
Thanks, Cliff!
